Chris comes to HEART with a wealth of experience in a variety of settings: including being a teacher in the United States at all levels. She also taught junior high and high school in Dar es Salaam Tanzania for 2 years, taught African History for three years at Tubman University in Harper, Liberia and participated in de mining landmines in Mozambique with the Adopt-a-Minefield folks for 5 summers in Mozambique. She currently is a Professor African History at University of Colorado at Denver. In May 2019, Chris led a teacher workshop on Bloom’s Taxonomy and encouraging collaboration and creative thinking at the school with the staff at HEART. Her passion, kindness, and generosity are much appreciated and we are lucky to have her on board!
