The HEART in Haiti School Board is embarking on a solar energy project which will help people in the United States and our school in Haiti. Here is how this works. In our part of Haiti, the electric grid unpredictably works about 50% of the time.
- Imagine planning lessons with a computer component and not knowing whether the students will be able to turn on their computers, much less connect with the internet.
- We are building a library and it is very important to keep the humidity low for the books and computer equipment.
- Since students do not have reliable electricity at their homes, studying after the sun goes down is challenging.
We are fundraising to install a 5 kilowatt solar electric system which will provide reliable electric for computers, lighting, a Community Study and Internet Center, the library, and agriculture irrigation system.
How do we propose fundraising for this valuable project? Through Trinity Solar, an incredible family-run company that designs and installs residential solar power systems. They are committed to stewardship, and have partnered with the HEART school to donate $100 for each person who has a consultation with one of their team members and $1,000 for anyone who has a system installed by them. This is a win-win program for everyone, bringing cost0saving green energy to people in the United States, while giving reliable electricity to our students and community at the HEART in Haiti School.
