Community Development

“All of our community initiatives are aimed at supporting our fellow community members and the local economy with opportunities for education, training and self sustenance.”

We strive to purchase and make use of services and products local to the school in Haiti whenever possible in order to strengthen the local economies. Our kitchen buys food and materials from local merchants, and all of the volunteers visiting the school make purchases from our neighbors to boost the local economy. Over the past year, we have developed a variety of small programs and initiatives aimed to give our parents and community members a chance for furthering their education, improving living conditions– essentially providing options to lead people on the path to self sustainability. Our Vocational School and Animal Program have been the most successful to date.
